Shigeto Akiyama is a graphic designer and creative director who has worked on brand identities, books, magazines, websites, and exhibitions, for cultural institutions, publishers, corporations, and higher education clients for the past twenty years. Akiyama is currently Associate Partner at Pentagram Design, New York.

Akiyama’s projects have been recognized internationally by Art Directors Club (ADC), British Design and Art Direction (D&AD), The One Show, American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Mercur Artdirection van het Jaar, The American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Society of Publication Designers (SPD), Type Directors Club (TDC), Print, Communication Arts, and I.D.

Akiyama has sat on juries for Society of Illustrators and Society of Publication Designers, and has been a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) since 2001.
